A BELIEF IN THIS SLICE OF LAND
Quesería Artesanal Las Cortas
“A belief in this slice of land…”
Respect for nature, for traditions; a love of our heritage, culture and landscape… A belief that art is synonymous with the highest quality combined with our reliance on long experience in sheep farming, together with our knowledge of the pastures where the animals grow, of the quality of such a natural basic product as the milk from our flocks, raised on our agricultural and livestock farm Las Cortas de Blas, and the end result of any of the dairy products created…all of this means we can offer these types of products through our Quesería Artesanal Las Cortas cheese dairy.
Our farm nestles in the Site for Community Importance (SCI) of Montes Torozos and Páramo de Torquemada, right on the border between the provinces of Palencia and Valladolid. It lies ensconced amid one of the least-known environments in the province, where the climate and limestone shape the holm and Portuguese oaks, providing us with some pastures that are threadbare but which thus give our cheeses that intensity and characteristic personality.
Our partnership with sheep began… We started to give priority to the flock’s welfare. They are animals that live according to their nature, in good health, well fed and in conditions corresponding to their needs.
We like to show off what we do. We like to explain it. We like to be in contact with people and to get to know their faces and names. Only then are we able to convey the passion that goes into our products. We can assist you in our shop in the quesería or cheese dairy itself so you can taste and buy our artisanally made products.
You can also find us in the following stores
All of our dairy products, our cheeses etc. are related to our pastures, to our territory, to our climate and our philosophy.
